National History Day in Shoreline

Picture
It's Regional History Day on Friday, and students from around King County will descend on the Shoreline Conference Center to strut their historical stuff.

The culmination of a year-long program in which students choose and research a topic, learning historical research principles and strategies, North Puget Sound Regional History Day is part of a national effort to enhance history education and prepare students to become informed and involved citizens.

At the Shoreline regional event, nearly 500 students in grades 6 to 12 will take part by conducting research and presenting their results in one of five categories: exhibits, papers, multi-media documentaries, original performances and websites. They work as individuals or in groups of up to five members.

If you find history interesting and want to participate in next years National History Day, please check out their website:

Comments submitted by our judges...the refreshments were great...how wonderful lunch was...colored ribbons made it easy to tell what the sandwich would be.  I took time this year to have a roast beef sandwich during the day.  It was great!  How do you keep the lettuce so crisp?   Barbara loved her turkey sandwich.  And, of course, the oatmeal/raisin cookies remain my favorite.  Thanks for another year of great lunches for our judges.
